(YEah and Drizzt is just choosing not to tellhim the whole truth.)
Once in orbit around Tatooine Drizzt looked at the red planet of his childhood. "Lets look in Mos Eisley first" Drizzt suggested to Tydarus.

"Go to Hell." Drizzt replied. "If he should attack me I want to be able to defend myself."

"Its because you Jedi value life too much. I think that life is worthless. Life is like a box of chocolates. A Cheap thoughtless perfunctory gift that no one ever asks for. Unreturnable because all you get back is a box of chocolates. So you sit there, mindlessly wolfing down the whipped mint crap when there is nothing else left to eat until you have a box fulled with bits of chocolate and teeth shattering nuts. And if you are desperate enough to eat those all you have left is an empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappings." Drizzt looked him in the eyes. "You life, mine, Ken's. All a boxes of chocolate."

"Jeez, what are you, some sort of goth?" Tydarus asked him, keeping a straight face "On second thought, don't bother, we all know the answer to that one. The only reason you have such a dark view on life is because you choose to live that way by being sith. Sure life may be limited, but you might as well live it while you still have it"

"And thats why I am a sith. I'm living it up, breathing the day, breaking rules, Carpe Diem. I live a rule free life where I can binge and purge everyday because tomorrow I may die. I think I'm gettign alot more out of life than you, Tydarus."

"Maybe" He said "But your not making such a good name for yourself. What's the point of your life it's not worth talking about or taking examples from by other people?"

"Well I think the goal of every man is to be remembered. To have people talk about him long after he has been gone. And all Jedi have done great things, things worth being remembered but they are never mentioned in the history files, just thier superiors. I guess I live this way because i know that if I do so that i will find my place in history to be remembered." Drizzt stared into the black void of space and his eyes shifted to the red planet of tatooine. Drizzt began to speak as much to himself as to Tydarus. "I guess you turn out like me if you live in the underbelly of Mos Eisley for the first 13 years of your life. Killing becomes an instinct and hate is a regular emotion. You just stop caring about other people and learn that the only one who you need to protect is yourself. You may call it heartless but to the one who grows up in a city full of smugglers and assassins and cut throats who will kill a 10 year old kid for a few credits and the parts for a ship its survival." Drizzt turned back to Tydarus. "Why did you chosse the path of the Jedi? What was your childhood like?"

Tydarus shrugged "not much different from what you said. Apparently I was born from force sensitive parents, but I don't remember them. I lived in a garbage receptical on the frozen world of Skor II. Sometimes I got lucky by pitiful tourists who saw the orphan squib roaming the streets and they gave me some small credits or food. One day I was found by a bounty hunter named knossos and his band of mercs. For a long time he was the only family I had, he took me in and raised me, until he was killed by a sith named Darth skull for no reason. He had not been hunting him or had done no wrong to him"

"Thats interesting. Two people born and lived in the same manner grow up two completely different ways."

"That is also true but I could never be a Jedi. I have too much hate, anger and vengance. So I took the one path of the force that I could."

"That hate and anger can be channeled into more useful purposes such as Determination and relentlessness. With help, you can change your ways. You're not purely evil"
